Hotel Indigo® Helsinki – Boulevard nominated for World Travel Awards™

Hotel Indigo Helsinki - Bulevardi, which opened at the beginning of March,  has been nominated for a World Travel Awards. World Travel Awards™ (WTA), considered to be the annual "Oscar gala" of the travel industry, gives recognition to venues voted by industry professionals for top know-how and quality. Hotel Indigo® Helsinki – Boulevard is a candidate in the category Finland’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2015. Voting will end on July 26.

Hotel Indigo Helsinki - Boulevard is the first representative of the brand in Scandinavia. Hotel Indigo® is a boutique hotel chain launched by IHG in 2004. The brand's key concept of 'the story of the neighborhood' gives the hotels a unique look that can be seen and heard not only in the interior design, but also in the hotel restaurant, music, staff and service. Earlier this year, the British newspaper The Guardian included the Helsinki Hotel Indigo on its list of Most Interesting New Travel Venues in Europe in 2015.

Hotel Indigo® Helsinki - Boulevard is the first hotel in Finland to offer things such as a charging point for electric cars, a minibar included in the room price, a Jungle Sports Liana fitness system and a yoga trapeze. It is also the first hotel property in Finland to apply for a gold-level LEED® environmental classification. The architect of the project is Sami Horto and the interior designer is Markus Eskola, both from Arkkitehdit Soini & Horto Oy. The interior design of the rooms in the new hotel are divided into themes derived from the 'Neighbourhood Story', whose designers include the European Design Awards winner Linda Linko and Pietari Posti. Finnish know-how is strongly present at the hotel in other ways as well. The impressive facade made out of zinc plate is the work of Esko Kivi, who has been in the industry for 50 years, and Satu Maaranen, known in the fields of clothing and fashion, has made a unique work of art on silk screen for the hotel restaurant.
